Founded in 1977, Laughing Stock Theater Company is one of the oldest theater producing companies in southern Idaho. Formerly known as the nexStage theater, Laughing Stock has had a long commitment to producing professional productions in addition to providing high quality theater education to the valley's youth
MISSION
To provide quality theatrical productions and arts education to the Wood River Valley, while also furnishing an outlet for community involvement.
VISION
Our vision is to continue to produce professional and/or semi-professional theater that encourages bringing in diverse artists from all over the country while also providing a home for our local actors, directors and designers.

Our team at Laughing Stock Theater Company is made up of passionate individuals who are dedicated to bringing the best theatrical experiences to our community. From our actors to our directors, designers, and technicians, we work together to create productions that inspire, entertain, and challenge our audiences.
Patsy Wygle
Patsy Wygle moved to Sun Valley with her late husband Keith Moore after spending 29 years in New York City. While there, she performed Off-Broadway (It’s Only a Play), on television (Law and Order: SVU, One Life to Live, All My Children) and several films. In 2003, she received her Masters in Educational Theatre from NYU. Beginning in 1988, she and Keith came to the Valley once a year to work with Laughing Stock Theatre, which her sister Kathy founded in 1976. She has enjoyed working with other local theaters: Sam Hunter’s Lewiston (Boise Contemporary Theatre), “Heroes of the 4th Dimension and Cabaret (The Spot), the Sondheim Tribute with The Liberty Theatre and many shows at Company of Fools. She is now the Artistic Director of Laughing Stock and Sun Valley Shakespeare in the Park.
Megan Mahoney
Megan first walked through the doors of Laughing Stock Theater when she was 12 years old, in Idaho for the summer and performing in the Main Street Cabaret at nexStage theater. Megan completed her Musical Theater training at CAP21 Conservatory Program in New York City and went on to earn her BA in Nonprofit Theater Management from University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has performed professionally in New York City, around the country, and overseas in a variety of productions before settling down in Sun Valley after taking a job at Sun Valley Community School. Megan currently runs the Middle School Drama program at the school, in addition to teaching and directing at Laughing Stock, and running her own wedding planning and flower preservation business, Megan Mahoney Creative. Catch her onstage and off at all of the theater companies in town.
